Conference

Today I attended the WIRED Travel Asia 2006 conference and it was a real treat! Since this is still the first week of the semester, I was able to get away and attend this conference (Thanks TP!). There were many experts and industry speakers from the travel and hotel industry who were directors and leaders in organizations in these industries from many countries. This event focuses on many things, for example how the distribution channels of the industry is changing, what factors affect and change the distribution channels, trends and the future perspective on this area and more! Events like this allow me to stay updated with the industry and I always enjoy it tremendously.

I had a unique opportunity to chat with Mr Jim Donelly and his wife from IGOUGO. He's one of the founders of this online travel community that allows visitors to post their opinion on many destinations around the world. That website is one of the world's biggest in this area so it was certainly insightful when I "picked his brain". :)

Whenever I go to these events I find it hard to mingle with the CEOs and GMs. I guess it could be my age or simply because I'm not directly "in" their industry. Whatever the case, it's really amazing how much you can learn from such an event. It's getting late now (almost 1am) so I guess I better do the right thing (sleep)! Ciao...

Finished Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World last week. Heh.

Looking at some older titles which I missed earlier.
