Unexplored waters

The first group of DHTB students have completed their diploma and the school will be holding a small closure ceremony for them to mark this occasion. Hard to believe that they started their journey 2 years ago.

Anyway, I'm doing up 2 videos for them. One will be messages for each other and the other video will be messages from lecturers to them. Ever since I've started this process, I have begun to learn almost everything about filming and video editing. I now appreciate all the work that goes on behind the scene. For example, when filming you have to consider the background noise, camera angle, lighting, timing of the script, numerous re-takes required because of a variety of reasons and more! During editing you have to consider the length of the video, splicing issues, audio track, and more!

I've also discovered talents behind the scene. There are a couple of the lecturers and students who really can shine in front of the camera. Since there may be media and also our top management will be present, I want to ensure that the finished videos looks good. I've also had to learn new software in order to do editing. I think there'll be many late nights leading up to the event in the following week.

I welcome all coffee contributions. :)
