Selamat Hari Cikgu
I woke up this morning and was pleasantly surprised to receive a SMS to wish me Happy Teacher's day. Since then, I've received several more. This is the sort of reason why I love my job. Yes, it's true. I've been teaching for almost 2 years now and am still considered a newbie in the academic arena. Thanks to the support provided by my wife (San!), my peers and my students, it's been truly wonderful. I hope to be able to celebrate more!
I remember walking into my first class for Introduction to Hospitality & Tourism consisting of 29 students. I was a nervous wreck! I was feeling really surreal as all the eyes laid on me. I thought of what it was like when I was last in class and it's unreal that now, I'm on the other side of the fence. Thank goodness after so many classes, I no longer get the jitters.
Here's my 1 tip for those who wants to teach: Relax & laugh at yourself. No need to be so serious all the time!
Thank you guys for your SMSes. :)
