Happy B'day Singapore
Dear Singapore & Singaporeans,I've been in Singapore for a total of more than 6 years. When I first arrived in 1998, I had no idea I would stay for such a long time. I was all alone and a young soul just starting my working career. I knew little about your country and what you had to offer. I struggled with work, the weather, Singlish, the "ugly" Singaporeans, the rules and regulations. I could not understand why Singaporeans had to be educated at the national level to be courteous. I still don't.
After all this time I have come to really love this city. I have come to love the food, the environment, the feeling of being safe any time of the day and the general comfort level of my life in this society.
I admit that I will not be here for the rest of my life. My retirement plans are in Australia where my family resides. However, during this time that I am still around, I would like to say a big thank you to Singapore and Singaporeans.

1. All of those that I've met and befriended
2. Those aunties and uncles working their butt off in the wee hours of the day to keep our city clean.
