Downhill

When you get to my age it will hit you.

Yes. It's all downhill from here....

I remember the energy. The spirit. The insatiable thirst for knowledge and for opportunities. The healthy knees.

They say you really start living when you're in the golden years. Bull.

When you get to my age you start to wonder, what have you accomplished in your life. I did. I looked at all the negatives, missed opportunities, the "what if.."s, the "should have.."s and wrong that I have done and it scared me. I am not sure what I was doing?!?!?
When you get to my age you start to think about things that you never thought about in the past. Like what's that line below my left eye!?!?!

But it's not all bad and not all doom and gloom. "I could be a lot worst off" I console myself. It's the truth.

Anyway....a recent hot topic in the press has been the issue of courtesy (or the lack of it). I can attest to that. I see horrendous displays of lack of courtesy everywhere and I see it quite often. I think the society here is too caught up with themselves. Too involved in their attempt to win the rat race. The government has for many years run one Courtesy campaign after another but to no avail. Some blame society, some their mother and father. If you ask me I think the bottom line is that people simply don't care.
