Don't you just hate it...

I've got a friend who's faced some very bad luck. He plonked down a lot of money to do renovation for his new place and guess what? His contractor turns out to be some dodgy fly by night a**. Read about it here. I really hope the government can do something to protect innocent people like him. There ought to be some form of criminal law that we can put on this guy.

Since I'm talking about hate, here's my list of "Don't you just hate it..."

1. When you show courtesy to an old man (or lady) on the MRT and he (or she) turns around and shoves you aside like you were dirt.
2. When you've been queuing for 15 minutes to withdraw cash from an ATM and then when it's your turn, the ATM shuts "for maintenance purposes".
3. When you parents say "Sure you can stay out late tonight" when they really mean "Stay out late AND stay out FOREVER".
4. When you take an umbrella with you to out and it doesn't rain. But the minute you leave it behind, it pours.
5. When you board the world's slowest SBS bus.
6. When you suddenly realize that you've passed the halfway mark in your life.
7. When you get strange phone calls offering you "free prizes if you come and collect it from our office".
8. When your new MP3 player breaks down 24 hours after the warranty expires.
9. When your "smart" neighbour forgets to switch off their alarm clock in the middle of the night and there's no one home. Genius.

I could go on and on....hahah...crazy. What are some of the things do you hate?
