Taxi man

After 6 hours of gaming and going home at 4am, the last thing you'd want to do is to spend 35 mins debating. Of all the taxis zooming around Orchard, I had to get one which wanted to lecture me. It all started with my comment that at certain stretches of roads of Singapore (e.g. Clement Road), people should not drive like maniacs. And perhaps the police can put up something (or someone) to deter people who drive like "GT4" wannabes. My mistake.

Taxi dude : There are too many rules and laws already. We don't need another policeman or camelah on this road to catch people. They will learn if they knock down someone or have an accident laaaah.

Me : Uncle, not at the expense of someone else's life right? *bored*

Taxi dude : No, you look at Singapore roads. The limit was 60km but now the government raised it to 70. That's good! People can then go faster and do what they have to do quicker. We're all mature drivers...

He must be referring to his fellow "mature" drivers who drive taxis. Or maybe he's been driving in Japan?!!? I felt an urge to define mature.

Taxi dude : Singapore already got so many laws for this and that...

*Continues for the rest of the trip*

*Car stops and payment is made*

Taxi dude : .... cannot be la, people will learn. Blah blah blah...

*I look at my watch in desperation*

Taxi dude : Oh, sorry to keep you. I know you're tired. You have another 20 minutes?

The guy must be joking! I yawn.

Taxi dude : Last time hor...blah blah blah..

I clear my throat and checked my watch. I even tapped it out of desperation.

Taxi dude : Down this road...blah blah blah..

Me : Uncle, you know what people who are not happy like you? They migrate!

With that, I left the taxi. Phew!

Yup, I went at 10.30 at night to E2Max. Not too bad the price.. :)

Had a friend come over and we had the urge so we went. Only 2 of us but luckily there were others there playing BF2. We also played online.
