Hi Mr Dillon,

To answer your questions:

1) When someone mentions the Tourism Academy@Sentosa, I think of this unique campus nestled in the quiet of this resort setting.
In fact its the one and only tourism institution which allows learning beyond the classroom. As in the surroundings all play a part in our learning

2) As for our aim, I think the Tourism Academy should strive to positively impact not just its students but also the republic of Singapore at large when it comes to improving our service culture.
We should be a leading role model for others to follow.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Tourism Academy @ Sentosa..i'll think of it as an academy that is purpose built, where students can have a chance to share their experiences with real tourists and where students can learn not just in the classroom..

And yup, we should aim to be the rold model for all the others to follow, that is other polys and institutes, in terms or service attitute and culture.

Being the only tourism campus in Singapore, I feel that there is this sense of "exclusiveness" that comes to mind when someone mentions the Tourism Academy @ Sentosa. However having said that, I also feel that the Temasek Polytechnic brand is not being emphasized enough. TAS shouldnt give people the impression that it's a private institution, like SHATEC, and that's what most people think when i tell them that i study at TAS.

But on a positive note, nothing beats studying at Sentosa, it is really indeed a privillege. The campus houses great facilities and it gives students the opportunity to interact and serve real customers. This experience is invaluable and something which students from other similiar tourism courses wont get to enjoy...

Indeed,TAS has a sense of exclusiveness...i feel proud hving the priviledge to study there, one of the s'pore's attractions. Not many ppl hv the chance.

Well,i think perhaps TAS shd be made more well known? it seems not many ppl knws abt it...they find it amazing studying in sentosa and they do not knw its part of TP.

Thank you everyone for your input. One thing though...

What about brand? For example, when I mentioned the Nike brand, you will think of such words as creativity, expensive, high-class, etc. When I mentioned Tourism Academy @ Sentosa as a brand, what comes to mind?

1. i think of service-oriented people, smiles and friendliness of people in the campus.

2. it should strive to aim to further improve on service of singapore by nurturing our fellow students there the importance and fundamental of excellent services. It should also aim to improve human-relations skills of the students, afterall, service industry is about interacting with others.
