Back from KL!

Well, I just came back from a quick trip to KL with 4 other male lecturers.

After talking about it for so long, the guys always wanted to go somewhere after a semester as a group. You know how it is..."Yeah, I don't mind going here, going there....can lah....anytime!" but nobody organizes! So I thought what the heck, I'd proceed to organize it. After much deliberating between KL and Bangkok, we settled on KL. From 8, we were whittled down to 5. The 3 that missed out (you know who you are), sorry mates!

We left Monday morning on a Super VIP Transtar coach (18 seater). Talk about luxury, massage chairs, personal LCD screens, choice of movies in different languages, etc. Very nice. We got to KL about 2pm + and checked into a decent 4-star hotel (Coronade) in a good location. Later than evening, 3 of the guys went for a massage (decent ones!). I decided to skip it and did the boring thing...went back to the hotel room!

Tuesday night (last night) was very happening. There was a street concert right below our hotel and they counted down to Malaysia's National Day. A lot of people were milling, hanging around and making noise. We hung out at a joint in the middle of the activity to soak up the action. Hmm...did anything exciting happen? Not really...just drank and drank. Mr Neo wanted to do a special dance but thought better of it. During the Countdown, everyone sand the "Negaraku" song. I wanted to go down and sing "Majulah Singapura" or "Advance Australia Fair" but I couldn't remember whether I renewed my insurance so I held my tongue. One thing about the celebration, there were no streakers! Where are they?!?!?! They also had fireworks which looked like every other firework I've seen.

We didn't manage to get outta town because we didn't have access to a car. Taking cabs would have been foolish! Those of you who've been to KL, you know what I mean. I know, I know, the good food are all outside KL city. Oh well, maybe next time.

Highlight of the trip? The superb beef noodle behind one of the back streets next to a longkang that cost RM4.50 per bowl. It was full of delicious minced beef. It also came with a small bowl of soup with some other beef parts. The chilli sauce was a killer! Everyone agreed it was very shiok! Can't find it here in Singapore, it was a mixture of ginger, chilli, some other secret ingredients that made it slightly sour, slight hot and really made you open your eyes! I suggested to Mr Neo that he grab the pot of chilli and make a run for it but I guess he wouldn't go very far after eating so much.....If you're interested, let me know. You won't regret it!

Unfortunately I didn't bring my cam so I have no pics to share. However the others took some pictures so I may upload it when I get them.

Okay, back to reality...tomorrow I have to work! Ciao.

You have no idea, it's so rare we can all get away together. We wanted to go away longer but because of work, we could only go on a weekday.

Just a quick one after a semester of facing you all! :)
